“Bernard & Huey” sells at Slamdance

Freestyle, a division of Entertainment Studios, has acquired the North American rights to the Dan Mirvish-directed Jules Feiffer-penned comedy Bernard & Huey, which premiered at Slamdance. They’ve scheduled the film to debut in May in ten North American theatrical markets and multiple platforms at the same time.​ Freestyle’s Rachel Koehler negotiated the deal with Circus Road Films’ Glen Reynolds.

“Graceland” sells at Tribeca

Drafthouse Films has acquired the Filipino crime thriller “Graceland” with plans for a limited theatrical release.  Directed by Ron Morales, the film made its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival and will appear at Fantastic Fest. The deal was negotiated by James Shapiro of  Drafthouse Films and Glen Reynolds of Circus Road Films.

“Newlyweeds” sells at Sundance

The dark comedy Newlyweeds, written and directed by Shaka King, which premiered at the Next section ​at the Sundance Film Festival, has been acquired by Phase 4, which is planning a day and date theatrical and VOD release for Newlyweeds this summer. Phase 4’s Larry Greenberg negotiated with Glen Reynolds of Circus Road Films.
